How to find your system specifications

Note

This article relates to both the TM2 and TM3 versions of the desktop software.

Find your system specifications can vary from platform to platform, the steps on how to change these steps are documented below.

Windows Vista

There are a number of ways to check the system specifications in Windows Vista.

  • Click on the Start menu on the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Click on Control Panel.
  • The Control Panel window will opens
  • Click on the Control Panel Home button on the top left of the screen if it is not already highlighted
  • You will now see a search bar in the top right corner
  • Type in the word System
  • You will now see a list of clickable options appear in the window. Click on System.

The View Basic Information about your computer window will now open. You can view the system specifications from within here.

Alternatively;

  • Press and hold the Windows Key on your Keyboard and press R
  • This will open the run menu
  • Type in CMD and press OK
  • The Command Prompt will now open
  • Type in dxdiag and press Enter on your keyboard
  • The Direct X Diagnostics window will now open with the full specifications of your system.

Windows 7

There are a number of ways to check the system specifications in Windows 7.

  • Click on the Start menu on the bottom left corner of the screen
  • Right-click on the My Computer button
  • Click Properties
  • A window will now open containing all of the system specifications for your computer

Alternatively;

  • Press and hold the Windows Key on your Keyboard and press R
  • This will open the run menu
  • Type in CMD and press OK
  • The Command Prompt will now open
  • Type in dxdiag and press Enter on your keyboard
  • The Direct X Diagnostics window will now open with the full specifications of your system.

Windows 8

The steps for checking your system specifications within Windows 8 are shown below

  • Click on the Desktop tile
  • Press and hold the Windows Key on your keyboard and press i
  • Click on PC Info
  • A window will open showing the system specifications of your computer.

Windows 10

You can check system specifications for Windows 10 by opening System in Control Panel.

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and tap search
  • Enter 'System' in the search box and click on system
  • A window will open showing your system specifications

Macintosh OS X

Finding your system specifications within Mac OS X varies compared to Windows.

To find your system specifications.

  • Press the Apple Logo on the top right corner of your Mac
  • Click on About This Mac
  • Click on More Info
  • A window will open containing the system specifications for your Mac
